@tomriddle4110 Naveen's Odisha is among India's poorest states. HBS and MK Stalin have just begun their innings. Yogi is a work in progress. He has not performed badly but hasn't been extraordinary either. The fact that his second term while very probable yet far from certain speaks volumes about how he botched up a great opportunity. He should have made a name for himself by taking UP to new heights and rankings. Also, state performance is no guarantee of success at the national level. Even now none can match the performance of the former Gujarat CM but as PM it is hasn't been easy. AK is good but he does not influence more than a dozen parliament seats.

@barbara_corcoran6150 Leadership is not necessarily a function of education. Reagan, Ataturk, Chung Hee did not have any exceptional educational background yet took their countries to new heights. On the other hand, highly educated leaders like Abiy Ahmed and Bashar Al Asad have been total DISASTERS. Blaming the masses is easy. The path to development is pretty straightforward. The challenge lies in convincing the masses to walk on that path. It is even more challenging for democracy because they cannot use force like non-democracies.

@tomriddle4110 I'll reserve my verdict on Stalin and HBS until I see more but I hope they do well. I am happy that Stalin did not go full-on socialist/communist. Anyways the real tragedy of India is Maha. It is the state that has everything (except competent leadership). It should have become Singapore by now. At least, the "Bhumiputra" fever has gone. I hope Yogi wins because the UP loss would put BJP at a massive disadvantage and push India toward the LEFT esp at a time when it was finally heading RIGHT for the first time since Independence.
