Do we call it a "rebellion" if the king himself is in on it? Praful Patel doesn't lift a finger without Sharad Pawar's permission. The fact that he got sworn in suggests that there is more to this than what meets the eye. Also, the theory that BJP will dump Shinde is baseless. 2024 Lok Sabha is his INSURANCE.

The biggest SURPRISE is Congress remaining INTACT in Maha (although many are just a hats drop away, including a powerful leader from Nanded). Maybe MVA and its friends were so worried about INC that they forgot to check on Shiv Sena and NCP MLAs. Overall, I think this is BAD for BJP. If MVA was unholy, this NDA+NCP is simply an arrangement of CONVENIENCE. Ambitions won't be a problem, but BJP has essentially PUNCTURED its own ORGANIZATION in Western Maha, where it had painstakingly emerged as a challenger to NCP.
