  1. The Chinese want us to think that they hold the upper hand against us, but they are peeved by the fact that we can "raise" stakes. With China also playing poker on the superpower table, they don't have the chips to engage both the US and India simultaneously. The rise of China is good for global order and even better for India. Agreed, China's problems with India are territorial, but their more immediate concern is India developing defense capabilities on its eastern front. A more invested China on the superpower table bodes WELL for us.
