If Uddhav thinks Balasaheb's switch from "Maharashtrawad" to "Hindutva" was a MISTAKE then he certainly deserves to be thrown out of Shiv Sena. Balasaheb embraced HINDUTVA out of compulsion. "Marathi manoos" never resonated beyond Mumbai and even in Bombay (as it was called earlier), it was plateauing. Bombay was built by Gujratis, Parsis, Goans, and South Indians. The demography was not favoring Shiv Sena hence Balasaheb had to reach out to others via HINDUTVA.

He acknowledged that MVA itself was born out of "sin". He did not "certify" the MVA or the current arrangement as moral or amoral.

@RajKumar-ye4uf Ask SG. He used the word "sin". I call it Realpolitik. Neither formation of MVA was amoral nor it's dismantling.

A lot of the blame lies with self-proclaimed "LIBERAL" Media too. Since 2014, the "elite" journalists of the pre-Modi era have become UNPAID cheerleaders of anyone who trains their gun on Modi. Sanjay Raut had once suggested taking away the voting rights of Muslims. All this was forgotten and Uddhav was "secular" certified by the likes of Rajdeep, Barkha, Swara, Ayyub, etc. Modi too has his own "Godi Media" but that is more for setting a narrative for the public NOT HIMSELF. But SECULAR Uddhav dropped VIGILANCE. With the exception of Sg, Vir Sanghvi, Prabhu Chawla, and a few others who still call SPADE a SPADE, the rest of the pre-Modi era journos should contest elections because their DISLIKE for Modi has compromised their PROFESSIONALISM. Modi got 40% of the votes. The key to his defeat lies in disintegrating that 40% NOT UNITING the other 60%.

I don't think Uddhav was any better than other Maha CMs. In fact, in the last 20 years, only Ashok Chavan was a forgettable CM with several blunders. Others including Vilasrao Deshmukh, Prithviraj Chavan, and Fadnavis earned a decent reputation. However, I do not think MVA was a mistake by Uddhav. It's Realpolitik. His blunder was mistaking himself for Balasaheb. The party workers were already upset with the realignment. The succession plan was also ill-timed. People like Shinde have their own base. They can carry Uddhav (as a tribute to Balasaheb) but not Aaditya with the same devotion. Also, there were others like Kesarkar who joined the party after winning a hard-fought battle against the NCP. Uddhav miscalculated all this.
