Fun fact: Post the Maratha rout in the 3rd battle of Panipat, Mahadaji Shinde (Founder of the Scindia dynasty) and Nana Fadnavis (dubbed Marathi Machiavelli by the British) resurrected the Maratha empire. Together they defeated the Pashtuns, Mughals, and even the British and the Maratha empire was once again India's foremost military power. Initially, I was skeptical about the Eknath-Fadnavis arrangement but got to give it to BJP's Chanakyan thinking. The Shinde-Fadnavis hyphenated duo have been running a tight ship and have good command over administration. Uddhav has been largely forgotten but the biggest achievement is the dilution of NCP's MARATHA CARD.

  3.  @KejriwalBhakt  I do not know if you are from Maha or which part of Maha but I can assure you Pawar commands fierce loyalty among many voters. He doesn't enjoy a clean image but he is worshipped in western Maharashtra and the BJP hasn't been able to break his hold despite all efforts. Also, Loud mouth leaders are okay for UP-Bihar but Maha- MP have generally appreciated level headed leaders. Look at history of Maha, Balasaheb captured power only once while Raj Thackeray is nowhere to be seen today. Even in the opposition you don't have rabble rousers. I think we can safely say Sanjay Raut is a joke and doesn't count. Congress is over in Maharashtra. Their leaders like Ashok Chavan already have one foot in the BJP. Sharad Pawar will carry Uddhav. In the future, it will be an NCP vs BJP battlefield.

  4.  @KejriwalBhakt  As per Raut, even Biden's sentiments are with Uddhav so sure, Why not? Shinde wasn't just made CM to punish Uddhav. The most important motive was to weaken NCP's Maratha vote bank. The only person who matters in Maha politics is Sharad Pawar. He controls everything from most selling Marathi newspaper to Sugar Mills to the land mafia. Even Modi doesn't dare to cross him. BJP is preparing for a post-Pawar scenario. Rural Maharashtra esp Marathwada and Vidarbha will be up for grabs. The merger is immaterial. BJP's main plan is to capture Maratha vote bank.
