  1. In 2017, INC gave BJP a massive scare. I don't think cadre is an issue for the INC in Gujarat. It simply lacks the appetite to fight elections. Also, Rahul did not coit any gaffes in the 2017 Gujarat election. Mani Shankar Aiyer damaged them big time. But, overall Rahul has been rejected all over India.

  2. The election is MORE IMPORTANT for CONGRESS. Rahul is on a "Bharat Jodo" Mission, while Bharat seems to be on a "Congress Chhodo" mission. In this sense, Gujarat has oversized importance in national politics. Saying AAP has NO ideology is grossly UNFAIR. Just because they don't recite SECULARISM 24*7 doesn't mean they don't have an ideology. It is a socialist-left party. Also, AAP will chase INC elsewhere in the heartland too. INC's vote is under SIEGE, and the party is running south to north in circles.

  3. I don't think your are correct. The ideological median in India is skewed toward the left and socialism. Like it or not there is little appetite for ec the economic right. Kejriwal may not defeat Modi but even if he replaces Rahul Gandhi, a new AAP vs BJP duality nay come up in the country.
