Agneepath is a promising initiative. Nevertheless, not entirely convinced with the argument for a "leaner" army (To be clear, Angeepath has not said that. Just reacting to Sg's comment). Ours is a defensive force and our worst-case scenario is a two-front invasion from two Nuclear powers. Quantity has a QUALITY of its own. Comparison with the Ukraine-Russia war is foolish. Russia is under close watch and they can't go on a merciless spree. In India's case, no foreign media will care about war crimes.

Why the need for such incentives? Are you making the case that Ex-servicemen are at a disadvantage in private/psu jobs? There is no evidence in this regard. It makes more sense to create a quota for them in police recruitment owing to their skills but private jobs should not be skewed toward anyone.

@x87-64 Nope. Perhaps I was not clear. I meant are two neighbors, one which is basically a terrorism bastion and the other which is famed for Uighur and Tianmen square will not be kind or hold onto any MORAL FIBRE and Foreign media led by WaPo and NYT won't waste their precious space to detail the "merciless" conduct of our invaders.

@madhavdiwakar1100 It's still hypothetical. You have raised an excellent point. The rehabilitation of "Agniveers" hasn't been entirely considered but anything at a private level will interfere with the spirit of free-market and healthy competition.
