CONSISTENCY remains the biggest problem with Congress. The architect of the policy i.e "Bhagel" is left to the backbenches while the Delhi "Prince" is getting all the credit. No amount of speeches and PR can fix Rahul's image if his actions don't meet merit. Hence, Kejriwal/Mamata/Regionals are the ONLY viable forces against Modi.

@podadi This is exactly what I think. Every time Rahul Gandhi makes a speech/action, his side of the Media makes a big deal about it, and "neutral" journalists start declaring it as his "second coming", "coming of age", "masterstroke" etc. In the last 8 years there have been at 80 such "second coming", notably "Hathras", "Suitbuit", "Hum do Humare do", "Surender Modi" etc. None have panned out because Modi plays the long game. His welfare schemes have reached the poor something that even his most bitter critics acknowledge. The welfare distribution has been corruption-free. His other support base is the Hindu middle class who may at times get annoyed with him but can't abandon him esp at a time when Congress has gone HARD LEFT. Congress in its current avatar serves only as a LADDER for the BJP rise to power.

@podadi That is the problem. Isn't it? We have no "credible" politician to take on Mr. Modi at the national level. However, at the regional level, there are people who outsmart the BJP. Rahul is a waste of time. I think PGV has a chance but the best chance is a consolidated force of regional leaders (I was citing Kejriwal as an example of regionals, not as the face of Opposition).

@libshastra These "impartial" journalists are NOT doing any favors to the Congress party or their cause of "Getting rid of Fascist Modi". They normalize Rahul Gandhi's DISASTROUS STRATEGIES and resell them as "masterstroke". The leftist crowd cheers these as success and courtesy of incorrect INPUT and remains "bliss" only to be woken up by "surprise" Modi VICTORY.
