India missed its development train during the latter half of the 70s. It was also during the same time that we strayed away from the path of DEMOCRACY. China's success may seem big and there will be calls to replicate it. Democratic despite its flaws is the most appropriate form for India. However, it can certainly use a "Transperancy+Accountability" upgrade. So far, all whether you call them Right-Left, Liberal-Conservative, Secular-Non Secular, etc have a "gentlemen's agreement" to not implement them.

@rubbertreemosquito3972 Not just Modi's 7 years, If you count out Vajapayees 5, MMS's first term of 5 and Narsimharao's 5 - REST ALL WERE SIMPLY DISASTROUS FOR THE ECONOMY. There were contributions from all PM's but all failed to address the structural flaws in our economic model. Interestingly, when Modi started a few initiatives like Land Acquisition and Farm Laws, we saw massive protests. I am convinced now that the Center cannot drive India's growth. It can only be driven by states.

@unknown01q2 Ignore "it". "It" is the living product of that humiliation. An educated person would be above caste and never be so prejudiced. These are the people who are holding India behind. The name "Mosquito" is fitting.

@daddydeadpool9871 When? It's already a year now. Subramanyam Swamy should have been made the finance minister. He had shown the path too. Exempt Punjab and Haryana or simply make them optional. Nothing wrong with Nirmala but more than caliber one also needs stealth.
