I would like add here that Opposition is not measured just by number of MPs and MLAs. It is also reflected in on-the-ground numbers. Even in defeat and its extremely low tally of 2009, BJP was able to keep the ruling Govt of the day on its toes. Of course, ideology helped the party but more than that BJP had leaders people trusted in. The Gandhis are a DISCREDITED LOT. They don't even have the CONFIDENCE to contest in Amethi/North India and have very little appeal among mainstream Hindus. Out of the 20% voters, I can bet a huge chunk would be Muslims. Congress party cannot continue like this. It needs to change and FOR A CHANGE IT NEEDS TO STOP TAKING YOUTUBERS like Dhruv Rathee and others seriously. Waiting for people to get tired of BJP is NOT a PLAN but a HOPE IN VAIN.

Totally concur with Sg's analysis. The Dhruv Rathi lapdogs will pounce on Sg now. We are all human and we have (also entitled to) our biases. However, professionalism requires taking a realistic view of the situation. The Indian media is a free enterprise, the Indian voting system is fair, and the the Indian people are NOT gullibale spectators. People's choice of vote commands RESPECT. Disregarding them as "Bhakts" ensures forever alienation. More than the entire opposition, it is for the Gandhis to answer why they don't click with the masses anymore and why they stand so DISCREDITED. Religion, identity, development, inflation, growth and all other factors matter but NOT in the same weights to every individual. Instead of believing in its own PROPAGANDA, Congress should spend at least one day to understand Narendra Damordas Modi and his appeal.
