The fate of dynasties: The first generation is inclined towards conquest, the second towards administration. The third generation, being free from the necessity to conquer or administer, is left with the pleasurable task of spending the wealth of its ancestors on cultural pursuits. Consequently, by the fourth generation, a dynasty has usually spent its wealth as well as human energy. Hence, the downfall of each royal house is embedded in the very process of its rising ---- Khaldun

It's not endemic to the subcontinent and within the subcontinent, not just limited to politics. Dynasts in India don't fail because these families have created a virtual monopoly where it is nearly impossible for anyone else to challenge them. It's like going to a supermarket to find only one type of product in each category. For e.g. The future CM of TN or the next Bollywood Superstar is already known. Unless they score self-goals and ruin their prospects.

@Hydrogenedits You are not wrong. You are entitled to your views. Your voting preference is simply your business. A mature society would have people who would agree to disagree and still show professionalism. Unfortunately in India, we have many nutcases. For e.g. Madhubala and Dilip Kumar were not even on speaking terms during the shooting of Mughal-e-azam but they completed the shoot professionally.

@Hydrogenedits Leave him Awasthi bhai. These Ayan Verma people are from the Dhruv Rathee circle. They are prejudiced to the core but narcissistically think that everyone else around them is a bigot. They think Wikipedia info is journalism and knowledge. I agree with Vladimir Putin. There is no left-Right. There are simply cults - Dhruv Rathee cult, Ram Rahim cult, JEEHADI cult, RaGa cult, Modi cult, Yogendra Yadav cult, Kejruddin cult etc. Wise people don't join cults. They vote knowing fully well that the person they vote for is the least worst option on the ballot. It's not like there is Keynes or Ratan Tata like people on the ballot and even if they were our system will rot them too. The bottom line is you are free to choose and vote. It does not need universal approval. The victory is on the backdrop of the vote count.
