If the Govt surrenders under pressure and rolls back these reforms then I guess they should also end the dominance of large farmers. They should bring about laws that make the agro subsidies available only to farmers with less than 10 lakh income and own less than 5-acre land. Also, MSP procurement should be granted ONLY TO THESE FARMERS. I am NOT SUGGESTING ANY REDUCTION IN SUBSIDIES OR ALLOCATION OF AGRICULTURAL BUDGET. HIKE IT BY ANOTHER 20% BUT ONLY GIVE ALL THE BENEFITS TO THE POOREST 20% FARMERS FIRST such that THEIR INCOMES DOUBLE (OR EVEN TREBLE). I could be mistaken but isn't this also the demand of these so-called "annadataas" camping in Delhi under the able guidance of Shri Yogendra Yadav?

@liebuster2489 The Hypocrisy is anyways suggesting that there is no future for India. It is better to vote for Congress and be looted by the Gandhis than to have a good for nothing BJP Govt and be held hostage by a bunch of anarchists. The blame squarely lies on the BJP. It was expected from the Congress to make it Modi's Anna Hazare moment. BJP failed to engage the relevant stakeholders. The process was flawed and rushed. They disrespected these farmers with Khalistani hashtags and Rajnath Singh who has excellent relations with Rakesh Tikait was never fully utilized. Jats will listen only to Jat leaders. If they hope to diffuse tensions they must get to the Jat leaders. The UP Jats are not against the reforms. They have joined only because of caste and non-payment of dues issue. Haryana and Punjab can be left out of these reforms in the country. Their mandi system works. They are the richest farmers in the country. You'll have to give them the freedom of adopting these reforms at their own pace.

@liebuster2489 I am aware. Farmers in my state are happy with reforms. They call the Delhi protestors "Zamindaris" who couldn't care less about other farmers. I am aware that not all farmers in Punjab and Haryana are rich and resourceful like the ones leading the protests in Delhi but their silence should be the reason to stop the reforms elsewhere. We are both smart enough to know that the 18-month suspension offered by Modi is actually the death warrant of these reforms. He wants a face-saver and to get out of these perfectly good but badly marketed reforms and he won't gamble another Delhi siege close to the election year. So in a way the continued protests are actually important for the survival of these reforms.
