  3. As fellow Hindu progressives and true liberals, let's be honest here. Congress has NO wealth distribution agenda. It is just a ruse to dent Modi's "ashwamedh" and deny him the 367 mark. Modi will milk this Uncle Sam "volley" to the fullest. The LIC line was actually creativity at its top notch best. In fact, INC could not have gone more wrong on the "redistribution debate" but I have full confidence in Rahul's team. They'll actually find a way to make this worse.

  5. They will remain. Probably, in some "Zombie" form, but Congress will remain. They might lose this election badly, but Congress has essentially taken up the Left space in Indian politics. The voter of 2029 or 2034 might not be impressed by "socialist" ideas, but a voter of some distant future when India actually starts hitting the $40k per capita income might move in this direction like the way it is happening in the US. Of course, a lot depends on BJP's politics and its handling of capitalism.

  8.  @mananmehta6910  I am no fan of Islam but the last thing I want is Hinduism to become the dreaded close Corporation the Ambedkar had so accurately described. We the Hindu tax payers are appointing a CEO for India Inc not a security guard. The role of the CEO is to deliver growth and development.

  9. Sg, let's be clear. Muslims are a VOTE BANK for Muslims. Manmohan Singh was playing to the vote bank gallery with his statement. I don't think it is wrong either and it also perfectly fine for the PM (whose vote bank is primarily Hindus) to pounce on the MMS statement.

  10. The "wealth distribution" will break the back of the middle class. The rich will hide their wealth in Swiss banks or some other systems. They will bribe and easily escape scrutinity from Rahul Gandhi's X RAY SCRUNTINITY. The middle class won't have that privilege. Worse it won't even help the poor, instead wealth will be taken from honest middle class to the dishonest rich.

Congress has always pandered Muslim extremists. It has only fueled terrorism. You keep voting for Congress. The rest of us are FREE TO CHOOSE FOR OURSELVES.

  13.  @pp_01123  Don't care about your approval or disapproval. And YES, fully agree with PM Modi's speech. Everything from Shah Bano to banning Satanic verses to Haj subsidies were done for "appeasement" of one community for VOTE BANK politics so don't try and fool us. People simply need to work hard and take their "just" share. Favoring one religion is NOT ACCEPTABLE to me and I will vote accordingly.
