Call me optimistic but it is unlikely that all are fond Taliban in Afghanistan. 20 years of Non-Taliban would have produced at least a handful of anti-Taliban citizens. Taliban has not won an election. They have taken power by "force" so if things start with a small resistance movement then who knows? Also, don't think for a second Taliban have changed. The optics that they are putting for the western media will soon disappear. Their default mode is SALAFISM.

@tomriddle4110 Even now the only province standing is Panjshir, the home of the iconic Ahmed Shah Massoud a.k.a the lion of Panjshir and the leader of the Northern alliance. Apparently, Saleh and others have gathered there to put resistance against the Taliban but the worst part of the current takeover is that Panjshir has no allies. Among the erstwhile allies of the Northern alliance, Russia and Iran have thrown their weight behind the Taliban this time while India is sitting on the fence.

@tomriddle4110 The two powerful warlords - Ata Noor and Dostum are on the run. There is no visible face of anti-Taliban leadership among the Hazaras and all the Pashtuns are negotiating deals including Karzai. I think the US lost the war when it installed a Pashtun as the President. Back in 2001 the US only gave air support but the victory on the ground was delivered by the Tajiks, Hazaras, and Uzbeks of the Northern alliance while Pashtuns were mostly supporting the Taliban. In Indian elections, even Amit Shah does not install CMs whose caste does not count among his core voters. But anyways back then the US was reliant on Pakistan and they had vetoed against prominence to the India-friendly Northern alliance leaders who were mostly Tajiks. Nevertheless, the Presidential style democracy was the second major blunder. We only know the Afghan Govt but we hardly know anything about the Afghan Opposition. Had the power been equally distributed among all the tribes equally (with less prominence to Pashtuns) things could have been different. The Non-Pashtuns would have led the offense. Anyways too late.
