Shiv Sena's business proposition was Nativism. The party later shifted to Hindutva and downplayed Nativism. Raj Thackeray tried to cash in on Nativism. He failed but greatly weakened Shiv Sena. Now, the two factions are at war over legacy. Uddhav faction can neither claim Nativism nor Hindutva (deeply discomforting topics for its new allies - NCP and INC), while the Shinde faction will be seen as the B team of BJP. Let's wait and see the results.

@pinyap1873 He has treated them as enemies. There are several public speeches of his where he has made it clear in plain speak. However, he did enjoy close friendships with several leaders from other parties including the INC and NCP. The rise of Shiv Sena was actually facilitated by the INC because they wanted the communists out of the then Bombay.
