  1. Everything from Wayanad to Delhi to Mumbai are merely the signs of coming days. I think the real culprits are "We the people of India". We are ready to pay "top dollar" for coaching and private tuitions, but the moment school tuition fees are raised, we create a ruckus. There are limits to Govt spending. Most state universities are in abysmal state and in dire need of infra upgrade. The teaching recruitment process at state level is among India's worst kept secrets. There is an urgent need to course correct but I am afraid we are still yet to wake up.

  2. I see two problems: 1) Govt budget is already stretched to its limits. Any further investments are not possible without increasing the taxes. 2) Finland is a small country. It has only 13 full universities and 22 universities of applied sciences. India already has about 56 Central universities and 479 state universities. Private universities play a critical role in bridging the quality gap created the public universities. It is the Govt universities that are lagging behind.
