  1. The Gandhi family is itself a MONOPOLY. If the Congress Party practiced true 'internal democracy' or 'free-market economics,' a leader who lost three elections would likely have been removed after the first defeat itself. Nevertheless, it's a welcome shift in tactics even if inadequate. Regional parties fare well against the BJP because they pick people centric issues. INC finds itself cornered partly because of past baggage but mostly also on account of inability to connect with the aspirations and concerns of the masses. The cherry on top is their Muslim appeasement which makes matter worse.
