BJP should also be mindful of OVERDOING Modi. Granted that he is BJP's biggest vote catcher, but the moment you send your STRIKER to the DEFENCE, you lose control of the game in two ways: First, you can't score goals, and Second, you reduce Modi's stature as the always bankable star. In fact, they should gear up for 2024 and leave this year to the local leadership.

Most of us on this channel have a mere voting preference (to which we are perfectly ENTITLED to). None of us are involved either with the BJP or the INC or your AAP, or anybody. CORRECTION: BJP ONLY lost POWER in Karnataka, NOT the state. It is still very much a major player in Karnataka. Nevertheless, the INABILITY to set a positive local narrative around the Bommai administration is a bigger DEFEAT than the LOSS of SEATS/POWER. BJP should go ahead without a CM candidate in Rajasthan. It's time they give Jats their due in Rajasthan. In the other states, the approach would matter more than the RESULTS.

The fact that BJP retained its vote share indicates that there may not have been a strong anti-incumbency factor. The jump in INC's voter share came for JDS because Vokkaligas shifted en-mass to INC because their own DK Shivakumar was in the CM race. BJP would have LOST due to the state's revolving door pattern anyway, but the manner in which it lost was EMBARRASSING. It should have foreseen the consolidation of the Vokkaliga vote for INC. It was criminal negligence. Also, despite being in POWER, BJP could not make inroads into castes beyond its traditional vote bank. Being out of power would be good for the BJP.
