  5.  @Fernandez.54  Quoting facts does NOT make me APOLOGETIC. Sikh-Hindu history has been far more COMPLEX before 1984. Sikhs and Hindus had a common enemy in Mughals, but Sikhism has always been DISTINCT from Hinduism (it does NOT matter that Guru Nanak was born Hindu. Jesus was also a born Jew). Sikhism drew most of its adherents from Hinduism. The war with the Mughals led to peace and tolerance between the two faiths. There were also many goodwill gestures toward Hindus by Sikh Kings. Hindus also revered Sikh Gurus and played a key role in forming the Sikh empire. However, post the formation of SGPC, Sikhism became very political. In fact, the demand for Khalistan is older than Pakistan. Sikhs were still numerically small. Post-partition, Hindus & Sikhs had to migrate to India. Many were hosted in Punjab. This increased their numerical strength in Punjab. Post-the trifurcation of East Punjab, a new Sikh-majority Punjab emerged. The state was still raw from partition wounds and the Sikh identity crisis (which had nothing to do with Hindus) ignited the fire of Khalistan. We Hindus are among the stupidest people when it comes to religious assertion. We have no uniform faith to speak of and are always in a hurry to HINDU-IZE other religions. We unilaterally declared Sikhism and Buddhism as offshoots of Hinduism. NOPE, they are NOT. Our Gods and their Gods are NOT the same. Hindus need to set their own house order. Unless we protect our culture and our religion. We will always be under duress from others.
