"America has no permanent friends or enemies, only interests" - Henry Kissinger. The US's India tilt must be viewed with a spoonful of salt. A 165 million square km Pacific ocean separates the US and China while India and China are next-door neighbors. We must avoid becoming a stooge in anybody's proxy wars. China's rise is INEVITABLE. India must ensure that the NEXT GLOBAL SUPERPOWER IS INDIA. Also, Shehbaz SHarif's speech was interesting too. There are tell-tale signs of Pak being wary of the taller than Himalayas friendship with Iron brother China.

@rawd1876 Gain in terms of economy, how? Whatever gains that were to be made economically are already in place. Let's be brutally honest here, the US will not abandon China for India. Trump tried doing it but it was for the benefit of the US (with Iron and steel and automobiles). Anyways there is little overlap between Indian and Chinese exports to the US. Most of them are high-precision goods that India does not produce now nor is unlikely to produce in the future. Moreover, India's exports like Pharma and IT require input materials sourced from China. There are areas like agriculture where we can collaborate but it has been a contentious issue at WTO.

@OrangePumpkin150 Your glaring ignorance is pitiful if not surprising. The US does NOT have partners. In the brown world, it has "minions". To the US, India is nothing more than a disposable "paperweight" against China. As to our "values", they are the same that led us to stand up for Bengalis in 1971 (against the weight of the US). The Russia-Ukraine war has nothing to do with India. Moreover, Ukraine and the EU have never lent us support in our causes.
