  4. Depends on the lenses one uses. UNDP method puts J&K higher in HDI. However, it is based on GNI per capita. The NSC method used the more realistic GDP per capita, where Gujarat ranks higher than J&K. Overall, health has been a major concern in Gujarat for many years, but one must also factor in the fact that many health diseases like diabetes are hereditary. I also see many Gujaratis addicted to Pan masala. Never ever understood the why.

  5.  @BharatThatIsIndia  NSC-based HDI is also calculated by Central Govt. None of the data is conflicting. There are multiple ways of capturing social well-being. The method employed and the parameters considered are what make the difference.

  6.  @BharatThatIsIndia  Again, Apples and oranges. Unlike you, I watched the show. I am not the one to put comments first and then watch. Nobody is denying problems. J&K's unrest issues are legendary. Per capita income is also a social facet, where Guj is 11th, and J&K is 23rd. Depends on the parameters upon which one is comparing.
