Be Careful What You Wish For. It is one thing to dream of a socialist "utopia" and totally another to actually live in a socialist utopia. Such experiments have ALWAYS ended in disasters (Everything was fine in Chernobyl). EQUALITY BEFORE THE LAW, EQUAL OPPORTUNITIES, and STRONG INSTITUTIONS are the ONLY EQUALITIES THAT ONE TRULY NEEDS TO BUILD AN "EQUAL" NATION.

It didn't pay a dime in taxes between 1971 and 1996 during the heyday of India's socialist era despite the Congress slogan of "Gareebi hatao Desh bachao". You say education and healthcare and prerequisite for EQUAL OPPORTUNITY. But is it the case? The richest people are NOT THE MOST EDUCATED. Jack Ma, Vijay Sharma, Dhirubhai Ambani, SRK and even Virat Kohli are rags to riches story. More than education they had the skill, talent and passion to succeed. NOBODY IS BORN EQUAL. Inheritance is everyone's birth right and cannot be stolen from someone. However, the generation that inherits wealth need to know how to handle wealth. We are a country with a lot of problems. We have very pliable institutions and incompetent leaders (across all ideological spectrum). Europe has somewhat achieved it (on the back of several "sins" but that's a story for another day). Arabs have also done well on equality index. We are bad but we are a WORK IN PROGRESS. We need to build and effective and coherent ecosystem. We need education but the kind that promotes "rationality" and "holistic" thinking. Not the kind that torpedoes good reforms under the inveigle of thugs masquerading as friends. It's a long process but it start with baby steps.
