  1. This CutTheClutter and the National Interest of last week make it abundantly clear that 4 pillars are not enough to support a 21st-century democracy. A 5th and 6th pillar in the form of transparency and wider indulgence are very much needed to confront manipulative forces that attempt to dislodge positive initiatives like Farm laws. OTT platforms and their contents cannot hide behind free speech and the Govt cannot show duplicity on "Satanic verses" and "Tandav".

  2. Twitter, Google, and Fb are not just tech giants rather monopolies. We are forced to visit them. There is very little transparency over their revenue models. They need to be tamed to ensure that the consumers are not being manipulated. We also need laws like the ones passed by Australia to ensure that News agencies are not cheated out of their money. Consumers must realize that EVERYTHING THAT'S FREE HAS BACKDOOR PAYWALL.
