  1. It's never wrong to prepare for ALL eventualities. However, Karnataka's results were an eye-opener for the saffron party. The loss per se was not so bothersome as Karnataka has a pattern of voting out the ruling party, but BJP lost the state despite retaining its vote share. Thus, BJP is vulnerable to a creative freebie campaign and consolidation of anti-BJP votes. BJP needs additional vote banks as insurance.
