Rahul is the "angrez" who thinks we are all "snake charmers". Prof. Chandrachur Singh is 100% correct. It's Maslow's hierarchy of needs. The cultural renaissance with the return of the Ayodhya King is the Hindu elevation to SELF ESTEEM. Today, everyone is aspirational, and it can be confirmed just by looking at the choice of Mobile phones. Xiaomi, which was a craze in 2014 due to its low prices, is now struggling because people are looking for aspirational symbols in a smartphone.

Caste and religion have always ruled Indian politics. In fact, India's growth story only began in the 90s when we unleashed liberalization and embraced cultural roots with Babri demolition.

The caste lines are blurring throughout India. I know it is still very rigid in many corners, but there are also many who only identify as Hindus and are not so much concerned about castes. Even arranged marriages are happening without caste considerations. Caste will progressively further weaken. The dynastic politics of regional caste leaders have also reduced the overall potency of caste politics.

However, Congress is not among the top two parties in WB. The last INC CM in WB was in 1977. TMC and BJP are WB's top two parties. INC is nowhere in the picture. TMC's two-seat offer was generous, given INC's pathetic organization in WB.

@watanabe00738 Please uphold your culture and your identity. Buddism/Hinduism are religions that originated on this soil. Don't ever turn to Gods who don't even look like us.

Nice analysis but only two audience questions were taken.

@DKSingh-wf8tn Thanks for the reply. There is no need to apologize. However, I miss the good old days when you used to be on the expert panel answering audience questions. I'm guessing you are getting state-specific experts. It's nice, but I think you have a much better helicopter view from Delhi of the impact of regional politics on the national scheme of things.

@DKSingh-wf8tn Sure. I will watch tomorrow's show. Also, I understand the logic behind the two formats, but we are still losing out on a direct interaction with you. Perhaps you should consider incorporating some audience interaction in PoliGraph or adopt a Sankat, Suraksha, and Swamy/Macrosutra Model for PoliGraph. I anyways read your article on the website.
