  3. Indian military needs modern war machinery, but let's be honest, it's better to sell your soul to the devil than be in America's debt. The US has no permanent friends, just permanent interests, and will sell us out in the blink of an eye to secure their own interests. Pakistan is living proof of what "America dependence" can do in the long run. Given Russia's isolation, we need long-term support and investment for indigenous tech, preferably led by private players. The inferiority will subside in due course of time. Fortunately, China-US cold war and Pak's economic woes, have given us some breathing space. We should cash in on it while we can.
