Why should that not be the case? Taliban is not some alien invasion. They are primarily Afghan Pashtuns. It is their own citizens and hence their own mess. Why should the world care? Going out there to save Afghans would be like going to a slaughterhouse. It is up to them to save themselves from their own people.

@scienceisreligion5618 You are either being kind or woefully ill-informed when you say the 17th century. Taliban's stated goal is to take the people to the times of the Prophet which is about 6-7th century. It won't cause "wildfires" elsewhere but would serve as a breeding ground for jihadis. It will also push up security costs and risks for India, France, the US, the UK and even Australia, and many others. It is for the people of Afganistan to forge their own destiny and stand-up to oppressors.

It is disappointing that you did not mention anything about Sardar Mohammed Daoud Khan whose assassination led to the 40+ year civil war. Also, Pak was drawn into Afghanistan by Mohammed Daoud Khan when he rattled the Punjabi Army with his push for Pashtun nationalism.

@eshaan1110 Dude, I have no aspirations of being perceived as cool or imposing my opinion on others. Facts are facts. Naxals, Communists, RW Militia like SIMI, Indian Mujahideen, and Khlistanis have made such maneuvers in the past but the Indian forces have fought them with valor. Also, the majority population in India is peace-loving by default and thankfully does not have some insane ideas about going to "Jannat".

@shahsaud2625 Yes. Blaming Pakistan, the US, or the Russians for Afghanistan's current mess is a little too easy. The current destruction of Afghanistan may very well have its roots in the failed idea of Pashtunistan. It never gained momentum in Pakistan. By the mids 70s, Khan himself abandoned the idea but by then he had already alienated the Non-Pashtuns

@arceusthomas2447 Not just India. As long as they hold Afghanistan they are s danger to all countries with France and thr US as to targets. They are thr Globe's Jihad factory. However, the swiftness and stealth displayed by them suggests even a more sinister plot. Perhaps they might have already negotiated international recognition. Nonetheless, they will not change their stripes. Despite these risks, marching to take back Kabul is simply not an option for any nation or alliance. The Taliban are like cockroaches. There is a need to destroy the salafi ideology of theirs.
