  1. Muslim vote bank politics is the reason for INC's flip-flopping on the UCC. All their leaders are singing different tunes. BJP had promised UCC in its Uttarakhand manifesto. Goa, where both Christians and Muslims constitute a significant portion of the population, has already been following UCC for many decades. The live-in relationship part can be sorted out at a later time. It is not a huge population as of now.

  2. Nikah Halala also involves the consummation of marriage. Bhadra Sinha left out the key detail either due to the fear of STSJ or "sickular" compulsions. I think some regulations are necessary for a live-in relationship. Shraddha Walkar ended up in a suitcase, and it was not discussed by anybody in this analysis. There are already many cases of suicides and FIRs of false promises of marriages in live-in relationships.
