  1. The purpose of jwt is not to encrypt or hide the data but only to be sure that the the server issued the data and not someone else and use it as a stateless system. Imagine that you want to go to a concert. You have your ticket (password) , you show your ticket once and you enter , the security guy stamps your hand (gives you a jwt). Now you quit and want to enter again, you only need to show that stamp , no need to show your ticket gain, the security guy can easily verify that it's his stamp (the server verifies the signature), it can't be made by someone else so he trusts you
