  3. How sad.. though I'd also rather go out on my own terms instead of in a cold nursing home. This is just yet another example of why assisted su*cide should be legal, especially when someone is terminally ill and/or are suffering to the point of having no quality of life moving forward. It's just far too immoral to hold on to life just for the sake of it. Just like our beloved pets are usually part of our family, when we know that they've gotten so ill in their old age that we lovingly assist and alliviate their needless suffering by letting them go to sleep peacefully; without the long, cruel and drawn out suffering.. us, the loved ones surely want all of those we love to live as long as possible by our side, but needlessly making them suffer for far longer than necessary is selfish; which is why we aid our beloved pets(/family in pet owners eyes) in such a manner. It's not for us and our comfort, it's for their comfort and dignity. Legalizing assisted s*ic*ide would be the most ethical thing to do for all parties involved, as an option for everyone where the benefits clearly weigh more than continuing needless suffering for the terminally ill and those in constant suffering with no opportunity for actual improvement in life. Forcing people to live out their lives in painful suffering with no end in sight is torture imo. It's cruel and unnessecary. Let them go of free will as peacefully as possible if that's their clear wish. It's just what's right. Don't force people into situations like the one showcased in this tragic episode. It shouldn't have to be like this.
