Comments by "Elk Paz" (@elkpaz560) on "Alex O'Connor: Islam's influence in the West, moral relativism u0026 multiculturalism's fundamental flaw" video.
Why does Alex say there was a unique awfulness of the transatlantic trade and then admit he doesn't know much about other slave cultures. He should also read Tom Holland's 'Dominion.' The Enlightenment developed in a Christian Europe.

@ballisticfish1212 or anywhere if you go back long enough, the species itself originated in the sea. On the other hand the people who have heritage in these islands over millennia have a moral claim to the territory.

@willmosse3684 Read it again. Holland is an atheist btw he has more than a Christian context to view how distinct the cultures that it produced are. You're too inside that culture to view it properly.

@willmosse3684 Yes. His point is to recognise that we in the West are all culturally Christian - the notion of every individual having equal value is essentially the Christian revolution's legacy.

@willmosse3684 Oh I see you're looking at how Christianity panned out in the real world. Well that was a mixed bag but the concept of equality which animates all the new-Marxist activism of today finds its roots in the teachings of Jesus. Please educate me if you can see other sources of this concept - Hinduism, Incas, Pharonic Egypt - where and when?
