Yeah, China is probably the most capitalistic country but capitalism is never above the government. In the US, government is manipulated or controlled by capitalism.

Let's just call it what it is, leadership in the US is a popularity contest.

Where in the US were you taught that no form of government is better than the other? You must have had an enlightened teacher. As far as I know, every american was taught that Democracy is the one and only and it's US sacred duty to spread or impose it to everybody in the world, no matter if they want it or not. Hence, we have Afghanistan, Iraq, Iran, Venezuela, Syria, etc.

Everybody is neglecting to mention that Xi Jin Ping's father was purged during Mao's rule and Xi Jin Ping was one of those 30M "sent-down youths" forced to leave the cities and go to the countryside. Xi was an agricultural laborer from 1969-1975, most of the Cultural Revolution. Oh yeah, the chinese leaders paid their dues.

@CyrusJanssen The chinese, or for the most part, asians, are also brought up that the government works for the benefit of the citizen. In contrast, there is a very huge number of americans who think the government is never to be trusted, and is their enemy.

@melodylin8622 How long was it the last time you were in China?

@fooksengloke3625 It could have worked if the Kim family are better administrators in good governance. they should have made Lee kuan Yew their model.

China is constantly changing and their system is constantly changing too with the times. They can do that because they have a politburo that can react that fast. The US seems so glacial in contrast because they can be bogged down by bureaucracy, politicking and the constant squabbling by party affiliations. They might even have to amend the constitution.

You can see the big difference in how both systems produce their leader just by looking at the present. Both Pompeo and Trump came out of nowhere with not one day of public service and administration experience and became the nation's highest leaders. President Xi and all the chinese politburo took them 3-4 decades of government service to get there at the top. I'd rather have the latter group because it means they were tested again and again and they were the cream of the crop.
