I think the main reason this revolver did not do well was it was rather expensive to start with, and the extractor never really worked right. I mean it works about as good as it can, but the design just is not very viable. Now if it was the same price as other revolvers and the extractor worked well, I bet they would be in business still, but that would require a totally different design, and I am not even sure that design is possible.

It is strange that 9mm does not work well in this, as 9mm does work fine in the Ruger Convertable .357/.38/9mm. That being said, I think Ruger solved that issue by having a different cylinder that fits the 9mm better. By the way, if you are hand loading 9m Makarov and load a standard 9mm into the case and crimp it to keep it in place, it will work. That being said, it would be a very strange situation that you have 9mm Makarov brass, standard 9mm bullets, and reloading equipment all at the same time.
