Judging by that out of battery lever, I think who ever built this did build a .32 copy at one time and knew just enough about firearms to make a simple blow back....not enough to make a locked .45, ha.

Na, it would most likely not blow up. The slide might end up in a place other then on the pistol though, ha. Like maybe, inside the shooter's skull.

Yes Russian provided them with AKMs as well as some old stock they had in inventory. You will find an odd mix of Russian designs in the Vietnamese arsenal.

I was thinking primmer only wax bullet. That might work. I would not fire anything with actual powder in it, ha. No lock at all and a simple blow back .45 sounds like a big bang at the wrong end to me. I do not think anything with enough power to actually cycle would work out well.

If it was ever fired before, it was a really weak load, doubtful it even cycled. The way it is constructed indicates that it would break apart from the recoil even from light loads, assuming the entire slide did not fly off the back the first time it fired.

I doubt it would be good, ha.

Not bad for something someone made in a hut with a hand file and not even a welder. It might actually work with primmer only wax bullets, ha. I think I know what happened here. That out of battery lever makes me think that there was this fellow who knew a bit about firearms and made a functional .32 blow back that he copied from something someone brought him. Someone got a hold of a 1911 and though, hey, this fellow made that .32 that actually works, so if I bring him this thing, he can make a working version of this. The only problem is they did not realize that making a simple blow back .32 is a bit easier then a .45 caliber 1911, ha.
