I would just bootstrap with the pennies you can scrap together if that's at all possible. Some products make that impossible, but faaaaaaaaar more can be done for a few grand, or even no start up capital. If you really have the dream, solid business plan, and experience, you shouldn't have any trouble finding someone to give you a few grand. You can do friends and family, you can do an angel investor, you can work nights and weekends, you can put it on credit cards, etc. There are a lot of ways to get small amounts of capital to kick things off. In fact, and I say this with all the love in the world, but anyone that can't raise, call it $5,000, is never going to be able to launch a company. And to give you an idea of scale, Quest was started with $10,000 in capital, and we didn't take any outside investments (minus some debt) until we had crossed the billion dollar valuation. Alternatively, you can give out equity as a way to get what you need. And then, my biggest piece of advice is to start executing right now. Today. Good luck! Go kill it!
