He's the very kind of person those in such a terrible situation must be protected from, just as there is now a legal interdict against them in the vicinity of abortion clinics. By all means make your views known to your MP, this is a free vote and not influenced.

  4.  @jakkuwolfinsomnia8058  English Law as it stands separates suicide - which is legal - from aiding and abetting it, which is Murder 2 aggravated manslaughter, tariff up to 14 years. A spouse who knows what is happening can only run to the Police - and that busybodying destroys the family. My wife died of cancer, and was cleared for a gentle end under Belgian Law, which may well have placed me in that unhappy position. That her end came here, naturally, was a Grace. I truly cursed and curse the Catholics who caused it: they have the doctrine of Misericordia, and yet insist on sadistic pain to the end. I'm not going to spare them now, what kind of monster does that? This minding everyone else's business must stop. Don't they realise we'd want anything but the bitterest of pills we have to swallow? And yet they delight in adding to the pyre of fears. And there was nobody left when they came for me. How dare they abuse caritas like this?

It's not about faith in the least, but a dominant-submissive kink. I'm not just hurt in this issue, certain promises made to my grandmother to stop her knocking huge holes in the Belgian Archdiocese a hundred years ago were not kept when it came to my daughter twenty years ago - by a Mother Superior General who reported directly to the Pope. Not a single local Communion I've known of has been straight, and hers was up to it's neck in the Dutroux scandal. Maybe you're going to complain that it's just a few, most of you are as white as the snow that's kicked around a sewage farm, but here, this is absolutely too much. To continue to threaten the grieving with worse - you don't deserve the name of a Church, you're a Satanic Coven.

Simply saying "Most won't be prosecuted" isn't the standard, the standard is that everyone is innocent until proven otherwise. The charges are malevolently constructed by some of the most sadistic people on earth. By all means be suspicious, but don't cause mor harm than good thereby. Paranoia is a very bad way of writing Law.

Maybe you've never known unendurable pain: be grateful. The real point, though, is that Laws are not drafted by Politicians, but by the Speaker's Clerks, under the guidance of a Select Committee which can and frequently does call in outside expertise. It's only then that the debates examine them in detail. Personally, my activity with the Belgian Judge was also under the aegis of one of the top Corporate ethicists, and prior to that, I was close to another. You have access to the Bills on the Parliament gov uk website, and I urge you to read and study them, the more minds from all viewpoints brought to bear, the better. Democracy works because it comes from a plethora of opinions, and that's precisely why I'm so virulent about the Romans trying to shut others down as they have.

  16. Has he never heard of misericordia? It's a well-established Catholic doctrine. Playing on fears like this is a total lack of love: it goes beyond the sufferer, I was nearly entrapped by my wife's death, because the English law presumes I knew of the totally legal path she was on in Belgium which would have ended in her death assisted by doctors, in which I had no say whatsoever. In fact, she died naturally in an NHS Hospital, but at the same time, to have my presumption of innocence, and indeed my actual real innocence, removed by evil men like this is criminal. He's denying the next of kin's human rights at a time when they're in grief, just for the sake of dogma.

  19. Those drafting this law are very well aware of the case. However, they're also aware of the counter-argument, that suicide is already legal, but comes with some horrendous consequences for the next of kin.

Some of us have experience of the shitty end of where we are now, and that has to change. My basic human rights were trampled at a time when I was facing the loss of someone I loved dearly, and all you can do is hypothesise. There are NO words sufficiently vitriolic for that.
