@johnathanpearson3203 - What does the UK export? The UK buys stuff (low pound buys less) make other stuff out of it. So the weaker the pound the more costly to import the parts one need to build and then export. In reality the UK just loses.

Louise Rothwell - An all Irish government asked the British occupation force to leave. They stayed in NI and erected a British border in Ireland. So it is a British choice to cling to that Irish territory.
5
@jamesosullivan7049 And Today the UK has to face the consequences of occupying Irish territory even a as an all Irish government asked the British occupation force to leave.
5
Louise Rothwell The problem is that the invitation to leave for the British came from an all Irish government in the 20th century. The British choose to ignore it and erect a British border. The Good Friday Agreement has been negotiated between two EU members and the basis of this treaty was EU membership so as the UK leaves one has to make a new treaty protecting the GFA. The UK failed to do that so far.

@andrew30m 2 million zero hour jobs are not jobs but exploitation and an all British idea. The UK is unable to properly train enough people for the NHS. The NHS has 100.000 job vacancies. So low income jobs are in abundant supply with low worker protection.
2
Louise Rothwell The UK made the mess the UK solves the mess in a way all parties agree on.

@marcus2025uk The UK would have left the EU in March but Tory extremists blocked it. The UK is a conglomerate of small.and big problems, but this is an UK problem. The Good Friday Agreement is based on the EU membership of both sides. So one has to make a new treaty protecting the GFA. The troubles caused is the result of the UK not leaving Ireland 100 years ago after an all Irish government told them to go.
2
Richie The non binding referensum is an opinion polls and has no legal consequences. Some people leave under the illusion the Tories would give thrm any power. The reality is they don't. They just make gestures like non binding referendum.
1
The UK would have left the EU in March if the Tory extremists would not have stopped them.
1
You did forget to mention the Americans, the Russians, the Commonwealth with Canada, Australia, India and all the millions of others. Yes the British played a part, but millions of others as well. By the way Polish and French defended British airspace as well.
1
@paulleader7000 When a 2 trillion economy tries to hurt a 16 trillion economy what will be the most likely outcome?
1
@Anglo Commando What are you imagining? If Scotland chose to break the Westminster shackles and be a sovereign free country then this is their right.
1
James Smith Lets destroy trades treaties with 107 countries go Leaving
1
@zero sugar What does that mean? A non binding referendum has no legal power. This is what the stories offered. Tories never give the people any power on anything.
1
Sandy Scott Yes some people want to go back to the 17th century.
1
Cofefe - The British not leaving after an all Irish government asked thrm to caused this problem in the first place. The UK should have left a hundred years ago as an all Irish government asked them to.
1
The EU is a 16 trillion economy, the UK is a 2 trillion economy. The EU has 440 million citizens the UK only 65 million. The EU is 27 countries and has trade treaties with 80 more. So 107 countries are tightly interconnected with favourable trade terms. The UK just choses to leave that band suffer a negative supply shock.
1
@SpikeletTheBoss - This is not how the EU works. The UK chooses to leave, the UK crashing out is the UK choice. The EU is a 16 trillion economy, the UK is a two trillion economy. It is birdering on insanity that some 2 trillion economy tries to threaten a 16 trillion one. threatens
1
@sunsetdreamer68 The EU is a 16 trillion economy it exports 1600 billion and imports 1500 billion. 44% of UK exports go to the EU27. Most cars assembled in the UK have 60% parts from the EU27. Without frictionless trade and in time delivery the costs for building thrm in the UK skyrockets and this means these car companies will downsize and leave in time.
1
@SpikeletTheBoss The UK is about to destroy favourable trade treaties with 80 countries and frictionless trade with 27 more. So the UK loses favourable trade condition with 107 countries.
1
@jorisb2059 Some commonwealth countries already try to lobby Ireland instead of the UK.
1
@SpikeletTheBoss Sure a two trillion economy will get the same favorable terms then a 16 trillion economy. This may the the fantasy, but in reality the big economies get the good treaties and the smaller countries get the smaller treaties. Japan already said that the UK will not get the favorable terms the EU got. So when you blow up favorable trade agreements with 107 countries then they are gone and it takes time and effort and the conditions will be most likely worse.
1
@stuartnicklin650 It is easy a lot of EU countries have no significant trade with the EU. The 44% UK exports of the UK go only in a few countries and so do the exports to the UK. The EU is a 16 trillion economy and the UK is a 2 trillion one.
1
@stuartnicklin650 The US is a 20 trillion economy, the EU is a 16 trillion economy and the UK is a 2 trillion economy. In trade size matters and the double digit giants always have the longer stick. America First means America will take whatever it wants from the UK and let them signed on the doted line. By the way a US trade treaty cant make up for the losses of leaving the EU. The UK still exports 44% of their stuff into the EU.
