Steve C - The Tories never gave you a choice on the when, the how and if they do a million treaties instead. They just did not ask you for that. You could say leave, but neither how, when or with how many treaties or non.

@philipocarroll Some of them argue still Today that they get the benefits of the single market for free. I guess no one else does because you have to have entitlement.

@stevec6875 A Tory PM tried to quell the struggle in his party and silence UKIP as well and promised a referendum. In this referendum the Tories allowed two option. The Tories never gave the voters any choice about the when, the how and the circumstances of the leave. So the Tory government is free to do a thousand treaties if they can agree to do that. For example Switzerland has over 100 treaties with the EU while not being a member of the EU. Not to mention that this is a withdrawal agreement and this is part of the process of leaving the EU in an orderly fashion.

@stevec6875 It is a withdrawal agreement from 750 treaties, a 40 year deep reaching relationship that interconnects states on various levels. It is a huge change in a lot of fields. So a two year time frams is considered to negotiate a withdrawal agreement, settle the accounts. After this one may take in consideration to have a new relationship in form of a trafe treaty or others if the government choose to do so.
