@Billy2011C They case to exist as crashing out of the EU single market and customs union will cost jobs, tax revenue will be lost and some companies will leave in part or as a whole. Thus means taxes will be raised, borrowing increases and services will be worse.

@Billy2011C Frictionless trade is a prereqisite for just in time delivery like for the British ( largely foreign owned) car industry. Most cars assembled in the UK have 60% parts from the EU. If that won't work thrn leaving is cheaper then a huge storage and extra costs and delays. Destroying trade treaties with 80 countries destroys trade to a certain extend. It is easier to get a new EU supplier that delivers in time, with no paper work and no extra costs. A lot of foreign companies are only in the UK to produce for the EU single markey. If the UK leaves they leave. Yes for a long time the British government never told the truth to the people. Losses per year can raise up to 109 billion. This means lost jobs, lost tax revenue and more taxes, more debts.

@maydate86 Why does leaving a political organisation of sovereign countries to be such a drama? The UK decided to leave a political organisation so do it with grace.

@jaydobbyn3975 Well one has to pay money as it costs the UK 12 billion a year.

@joelt3944 The NHS has 100.000 job openings. It is totally underfunded.

joe caterman The Tories offered nothing they want to quell dissidents in their own party and kill of UKIP. They had no interest in the people as they never do. Millionaires care for tax cuts (Johnson promised 25 billion in tax cuts alone for the well off and rich.)

@Billy2011C I mean crashing out as in giving oneself a negative supply shock. Adam Posen the economist describes it so nicely. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EcIkIz98zXU Destroying trade treaties with 80 countries and destroying frictionless trade with 27 more countries and replace it with utter chaos and no plan has consequences.

@Billy2011C What kind of comparison is that? The UK has 2-3 million jobs that depend on exports. Greenland has not even so many inhabitants. The UK exports 44% into other EU countries. The UK car industry imports 60% of it parts for most cars assembled in the UK from the EU. This is done as just in time management. This works only in the EU single market and customs union. 144.000 British jobs are provided by 1200 Japanese firms in the UK. The Japaneses clearly said they were promised by the UK government frictionless trade within the EU single market and customs union. The business model of many do not work from outside. So they either leave for other countries, go back to Japan or leave for the EU. In the end crashing out means a loss in jobs, loss in tax revenue and increase in borrowing and debts and increasing taxes. So unless you are a Tory millionaire like Johnson, Rees Mogg or millionaire Farage one get hurt.

@Billy2011C Iceland is heavily integrated into the European Union via the European Economic Area and the Schengen Agreement. Is that what you are aiming for heavily integrated in the EU?

@Billy2011C Leaving costs between 50-100 billion a year, so Brexit costs a lot of money. So the UK has to cough up a lot of money

They throw peanuts to the ports. It is to late, it is to little.
