How different the UK would be with Heseltine as PM.

@ShiroNekoDen The Red Cross has a flag so are they a state? The olympic moverment has an anthem, so are they a state? A lot of organisation and groups have flags or anthems and are no states. Some countries in the EU share a currency (10 EU countries do not have the EURO) and a lot like the UK who is an EU member does not. So you argument falls flat. Let me ask you a question? Who is the EU? The EU are the 28 (soon 27) sovereign states and the governments of every state agreed on every nook and cranny. You don't like it well the elected representatives of the UK did? They did not only agree, they were often the one who took the initiative. The UK got 94% of the time what they wanted. May be one should look the government more on the fingers what they actually do. To come to the conclusion it is a straw man they is built with the claim. The Red Cross has a flag, the olympic movement has an anthem. So two more states? They are simple organisations.

Angela J - When one destroys willingly parts of the economy as they depend on the frictionless trade then this is not a risk it is willful destruction of parts of the economy. Most cars assembled in the UK need 60% parts from the EU27. Many are delivered just in time as to keep them on stock is to costly. Nissan alone needs 2 million parts every day. They can produce about half a day and when then the right parts in the right order do not arrive then the production stops. Leaving the EU will cause a ton of paperwork for imports, it will cost and only 2 more minutes at the border cause 17 miles of lorries parking. The heads of the car industry said that without EU single market and customs union jobs are at risk. This means they will invest in other places and let things run out here. One can question how many if any will be left here.

Gaming Princess Luna - So does the UK leaves because of something what does not exist? When one creates a straw man and then uses it as argument.

@ShiroNekoDen But we can agree that the red cross has a flag (and is no nation) and that the olympic movement has an anthem (and is no nation). So we can remove this to from the list of claims? As only 18 of 28 have the one currency we can agree that 18 sovereign states in the EU have one country and 10 souvereign states in the EU have 10 different currencies. So we have 11 currencies in the EU.

@Morn2moon Leaving a political organisation of sovereign countries has consequences. The UK will erect trade barriers, custom barriers, paperwork barriers. This will make trade more costly, slower, uncertain. The only way for companies to compensate the extra costs and the loss in trade is to do it with less workers. A lot of foreign companies are only in the UK, because they are in the EU. So they will leave in part or as a whole to return into the EU single market and customs union. We already see this and thid means well paid jobs go, but worse these companies have suppliers and they will need them less or no longer at all. So we see a lot of jobs are endangered

@NPC-st7zv If that would be so why do we have only 18 Euro countries of 28 EU countries? The countries can choose to be part of or not being part of. So countries have a choice and they decide what they want.

@MSDosPrompt It is funding from the EU. The Tories could give it to the regions, but they don't.
