What new habit? The reality is that it is becoming increasingly difficult to live in cities these days due to increasing prices and unstable/low paid work environments. When someone can explain to me how someone working casual/labour hire crap jobs can survive in Syd./Melb. let alone get ahead I will be all ears. I'm all for working hard, I did it all my working life but the equation is different these days. Exactly the same thing is happening in the US except on a much larger scale from what I have seen. Not much point working 40 hours per week if you can't even afford rent/food/utilities is there? Only going to get worse as employers look to new technologies to get rid of even more jobs. Glad I am out of the whole silly game tbh.

Our economy is doing quite well compared to most actually. May as well start getting used to the ideas of alternate technologies if for no other reason than fossil fuels will run out one day or the cost of producing them will make the cost of their use prohibitive. Some haven't left the stone ages in terms of seeing what is going on around them it seems.

@sadwingsraging3044 Seriously if you can't see what is going on around the place and that change is inevitable then...... We are already seeing so many problems starting to become obvious but most will just keep living their little YOLO lives and wonder how it all went wrong. Good luck suckers

@sadwingsraging3044 Oh how quaint you are going back down the political route again. How sad and short sighted as in reality they are all leading us down a dead end. Most people these days can't even organise their own lives properly but they have all the answers to these macro issues. Hahahahaha. Oh well hopefully for your sake you have your house and everything else paid off plenty of resources/money stashed away and the skills knowledge to make do if times get tough. It seems inflation and shortages are becoming the norm where you are but I'm sure they still won't be able to lift the minimum wage to $12 ph cos the country can't afford it. I wouldn't get out of bed to go to work for under $30 ph these days and probably not even then.

@sadwingsraging3044 Who cares about arbitrary labels applied by those who want to divide? In 2020 39% of on farm income in the US was subsidies from the Govt. Now those same producers are selling to China because the prices are higher meanwhile a lot of your own countrymen will struggle to afford basics. Sounds like your lots ideas of what "communism/socialism" is to me. I went to Permaculture courses 30 years ago and they were speaking then of the way we are heading and they were right imo. Don't worry about what is going on here as we are doing ok, you lot.................I'm not so sure.

@sadwingsraging3044 Yeah my thoughts exactly actually. I never assume that "everything is under control" as that just builds complacency. I do however take whatever steps to cover what eventualities may arise and which I have some control over. We will be along way down the list of those who will get smashed if things do go to hell. 40% of US citizens can't pay an unexpected $400 bill and the figure here is likely not much better. This video was about our wages not rising. I got made redundant and due to the Union I got a 6 figure payout which with what we already had meant no more working for this little black duck. Missus just finished her seasonal job and was paid very very good money for the hours she worked. Enjoy your tips and stimmie cheques.

@sadwingsraging3044 Oh we already are. Didn't refer to you directly, maybe you are smarter than most, but was merely referring to the numbers which usually give a fair indication of what reality is for many. Oh and it's Dunning-Kruger effect and not really relevant as there aren't too many things I am incompetent at and certainly not financial matters. I'm just not sure why we get so many Americans commenting on what/how things are going on here when they face so many challenges where they are. Real bad crap can and may happen but it is more likely smaller matters will cause most people the most grief.
