@eb2505 How do we know which was the case here? Like I said, aged care is very very expensive if you have assets so shipping the folks off to it won't achieve much imo. Yep people are grubs when it comes to money but plenty also have to spend their own money to support their parents. No one size fits all even though those on here seem to like generalizing to support their mindsets.

Weren't you gifted a home? How are you any different? Can't sell the family home until they have passed or you have some authority can you? Aged care is hell expensive and a bond will often cost a large chunk of the value of a family home so your post doesn't make that much sense really.
