@paulveenings6861 Yep I know but the figures speak for themselves when you look at it. Even when vaxed the sick and vulnerable will be the most likely to suffer still if they get it but the numbers are saying that with the vax the effects are mostly minor and hospitalization usually won't be required. It will be very interesting to see what happens in the US when it really gets going and more people than in the UK aren't vaxed. Pretty sad that people will latch on to one slip of the tongue and it makes it around the world as proof of a mindset.

@paulveenings6861 Strangely, not really, they haven't commented on the article I linked on the topic after telling me I was wrong either. There must be a bit in the NSW health advisories somewhere but I started reading it and lost the will to live.

The numbers are easy enough to find if you look and, from what I have seen, there haven't been very many, although one is tragic enough. Why don't you also try and find out how many lives have been saved by them while you are at it?

@merleboyd9962 Maybe because if it gets going properly like in some other countries the death count may rack up quickly. Check out the excess death figures in the UK and the US for examples.

A report the other day said that one person in the ICU had had one shot and the rest were unvaccinated. Odds are no given her age and that report but maybe it is reported somewhere else.

Are you certain or taking a guess? A news report a day or so ago stated that of all the people in the ICU only one of them had had one shot so that means the rest were unvaccinated. Given the time frame I think it is fairly safe to assume that they weren't vaccinated. Sad for them indeed and perhaps even preventable.

@Justin_-id3bt They aren't in the UK. Someone used this argument earlier and posted the figures which showed the exact opposite in fact. @alexbell8687 I linked an article and another poster has said that he said it incorrectly but then corrected himself later. Maybe people need to think a bit harder because it makes no sense for them to push the vax and then say that those getting it are the ones getting sick.

@alexbell8687 Are you talking about Australia or the one that happened in the UK? In our ICU they were all unvaccinated except for 1 who had had one shot. Pretty clear really and written down in the article I linked. If you are in the UK then look at the numbers of vaccinated versus unvaccinated that are being hospitalized and work out the percentage difference.

@alexbell8687 Making way more sense than you are. Go and look at your figures and tell work out the ratio of hospitalizations for those vaccinated/unvaccinated. You do get that when everyone is vaccinated and someone is infected then they will be vaccinated. The point is that those who are vaccinated are way less likely to be hospitalized or suffer severe symptoms/death. Start thinking a bit eh?

None of the people in the ICU here at the time the article was written were vaccinated except for 1 that had had 1 shot. What does that tell you? Check your own numbers and work some of it out for yourself. It is fairly obvious when you actually look.

@alexbell8687 Victoria likely coming out of lockdown first thing Wednesday and we are as well unless something changes. No need to hide under the bed or wear a face nappy as we have an excellent property and I will be going for a nice drive off road on Wednesday if the weather holds. Have you looked at those numbers yet?
