  2. You might want to take a look at how much support the Democrats have lost since electing, who they thought, was a progressive.   3. You have a very interesting view of history. In Obama's first two years Democrats controlled the House and Senate. If he wanted single payer or a public option, he could have pushed for it. This is just one of many positions Obama 'moved' on after getting into office, and a large reason for democratic voters defecting the party and turning independent.
