Comments by "పానకాలు పూనకం" (@PanakaluPoonakam) on "Been with my partner for 10 years, but we’re strangers in eyes of law: Same-sex marriage petitioner" video.
If you want to live together in the same address, just stay together. No one gives an F. Why would you want state recognition for? State will just give a document. What are you going to do with it?May be insurance/inheritance. But legal means already exist for insurance cover to your "partner" and you can "will" your wealth to your partner. You both aren't going to have children together right? May be adoption? IDK man, India isn't a society that will give two straws what you want to do in private, at least in cities. Just do your thing and stop hunting for headlines and victim coins.

For 99% of the time I don't want to know sexual orientation of the person who I work with, do business with, talk to, or even my friend. In 99.99% conversations your sexual orientation is offtopic. In fact asking someone who they'd sleep with is even considered inappropriate, offensive and intrusive into a private matter. I can't just wrap my head around why the F are these people dragging their bedrooms on to streets? Keep it away. I want nothing to do with your "John" or your "Madonna".

Bhai, Marriage isn't JUST about two people. Its also about the rights of Children, their inheritance laws etc. So state HAS to recognize a marriage if it has to enforce property laws for their children. And then, even the religion plays in inheritance laws - for example Hindu succession act. It isn't as simple as "just recognizing" as alphabetians scream on streets .Please talk to a lawyer

Also I can't understand this obsession with "pronoun" thing. I've asked MANY people to provide me 3 sentences in which their pronouns can be used - so that I myself can understand what is it all about. And how about pronouns in Hindi or in Telugu/Tamil. Do our Indian alphabet'ians ask for pronouns in Indian languages? What is the equivalent of Xi/Xer in Hindi?
1
@TheYasmineFlower Normal people will use "I, you, their". So if alphabet crows wants to use the same, again, I don't understand what the issue is. Now, you didn't seem to understand my question. The statement I've given is "MINE" as a regular "straight" guy. Your job is to give me "YOUR" statement (3 of them) that use Xi, Xer. If it just replacing I with Xi, then it carries NO semantic value that reflects your unique position as an "alphabet" - its just cosmetic. And I refuse to paint you with/for your cosmetics. Now if not Hindi tell me equivalents of Xi, Xer in your native language (whatever it is). If you can't give, you see how ridiculous it sounds to have your "alphabetiness" tied to English language. Don't trans people exist in India who are not educated in English?

@anirbanghosh1670 As a Telugu guy Rituporno Ghosh is perhaps the ONLY Bengali director I appreciate (more than Satyajit Ray, TBH). I think we are culturally very different people. We are "pure" entertainment people. We understand and live entertainment, even in our regular lives. And I don't find most of the Bengali movies entertaining. I have ZERO interest in philosophical or "intellectual" movies - I can say the same for most of us Telugu (and even Tamil/Kannada & Malayalee film industries). According to me, Ritvik Ghatak is the man who "ruined" Bengali people for their life time. This man produced such kind of movies that Bengalis have forgotten what entertainment can be. And it continues to date. You see, if you can produce entertaining movies you would be ruling the entire country with your softpower. Today most of us consider Bengalis to be "lazy, arm chair impractical intellectuals" who can do nothing for their own state but enjoy giving lessons to everyone.

@anirbanghosh1670 Oh yeah, I think I agree with you on a lot of points. I might want to clarify a point or two 1. We, Telugu people see "society" in our daily lives with our own eyes. We have absolutely no interest in watching the same in movies. I guess that's what is the cultural difference between us (or may be South Indians) and Bengalis. 2. I really have no hatred for Bengalis at all. But in general, we are pissed off with sermonizing Bengali who thinks (s)he has answers to the problems of entire world because they have a copyright on Philosophy and trademark on being called as Intellectual. Well, the way we see, that's how Bengalis behave and it gets tiring. 3. Bengalis behave as if they have a god's given right of being "culture" of India. But they have absolutely no clue about other cultures of India. So they sound very snobish. So, that gets tiring after sometime. And then, we have Bengal's politics, which is kind of cess pit from our point of view. Bengal is facilitating infiltration of illegal Bangladeshi/Rohingya immigrants which has become a headache for the rest of the country. And we are extremely resentful about this. That's all. There are issues and concerns and no hate.

@anirbanghosh1670 Again, I hope I don't really come as a Bengali hater. Absolutely NOT. Let me put it this way. I see Bengalis are great people with amazing potential. But they are just wasting it running around things that don't matter. If you want to export your culture, which I think you should, you MUST understand other people - people of other states and their tastes. Today I see Bengal as very insular state - looking completely inward. That's restricting your potential. What happened to you guys? You were so awesome back in the day at least until independence. You can read my comment as a lamenting on people who I really love but have disappointed me. Hope I made it clear.
