@sidvidle Webster's definition of a mosque: n. A Muslim house of worship. The proposed ground zero mosque will have prayer rooms on the 12th and 13th floors. Places for muslims to worship.I don't know how many are converting (some in prison) but the fact that NYC has 100 mosques and there seems to be a need for this $100 million mosque is an indication that islam is growing in america. Angry and irrational people?Is that how you describe the people who are railing against the burning of a koran?

@sidvidle Name the country.

@Devofone You've just defined an agnostic. An atheist doesn't believe there's a God.

@sidvidle Rauf himself wanted to call it the Ground Zero mosque. The 12th and 13th floors are prayer rooms. Would you feel better calling it a community center with a mosque? In this country we believe in separation of church and state, but most muslims don't. Do you actually believe that Islam is no threat? It's already a threat in western europe. Even if it takes 100 years, it will be a threat in this country. It's a political system cloaked in a religion. I'll C U in sharia court bubba.

@sidvidle Most predominantly muslim countries practice some sharia law, yes even in aceh indonesia and north africa. Perhaps you should do some reading before you post comments.

@sidvidle In May 2000, the Ethiopian offensive into southern Eritrea caused some $600 million in property damage and loss, including losses of $225 million in livestock and 55,000 homes. Eritrea's relations with its neighbors have been strained due to a series of wars and disputes. These include an undemarcated border with Sudan, a war with Yemen over the Hanish Islands in 1996, and a recent border conflict with Ethiopia.

@sidvidle You didn't even spell the name of the country right. Eritrea, not Eretrea. Free of religious nonsense? As of July 29, 2010, fifty-two Jehovah's Witnesses have been imprisoned in Eritrea for attending their religious meetings and engaging in religious activity.In its 2006 religious freedom report, the U.S. State Department named Eritrea a "Country of Particular Concern"(CPC) for the third year in a row.
