@captcrais101 Ron would get us out of the wars - that by itself is far more than anything Obama's done or will do. I believe in property rights, so stealing via taxation doesn't appeal to me. Anyway, a tax on the "rich" wouldn't yield much. Maybe a few billion at best, enough to feed the federal beast for about a week.

@captcrais101 Like Cheney might say "So?". Why bring up comparatively trivial policy issues when the main issue for any sentient person should be ending the useless wars? Could Ron Paul end SS? No. What lie about big govt and small govt? Clue me in on what you're talking about. And who's your dream candidate for 2012, who do you wish to get into office, and who do you imagine you're going to vote for?

@captcrais101 This country had a small federal govt for much of its history. When Lincoln was inaugurated, the US population was 30 million and the number of civilian federal employees was 2500. Now we've got ten times the population and over 2 million federal civil employees.FDR and his New Deal started us in the big government direction. Cutting taxes worked in Canada - they had a national debt problem then cut federl. spending by 10% 2 years row and kept spending flat since - much less debt

@captcrais101 Ron Paul will get the troops home, unlike Obama. A president can single-handedly privatize SS? Don't think so. Ending the useless wars will save trillions and lives. Any other policy issue is small potatoes comparatively speaking. And the Obama administration is not the people's government - it's the Goldman Sachs government.

@captcrais101 We've got a spending problem, not a taxing problem. Government spending is at $6 trillion (fed, state, local). Compliance costs small businesses $2 trillion a year, and our GDP is only $14.7 trillion. So tell me, who's the populist's choice? What politician would that be?

@Beannaich A president could bring the troops home immediately - he doesn't need congressional approval for that. There isn't too much a president can do unilaterally, but as commander and chief of the armed forces, he can bring the troops home. Ron Paul said he'd order that on his first day in office. We just walked in, we can just walk out.

The Obama administration has more bankers in important positions than any administration ever has, so getting "support" from Obama is a joke. Anyway, i went to an Occupy Las Vegas march on the strip and was suprised to see so many Ron Paul people (End The Fed banners and t-shirts).
