  1. A very bad hybrid. Basically a transmission-assist for better acceleration and to handle the normal acceleration of stop and go driving - so that probably helps in meeting emissions requirements. Over all, the tiny battery in a big truck makes me think this is to meet some sort of goal for having a percentage of the fleet as hybrids to meet some sort of government regulations or tax break qualifications. A total B.S. move by Toyota, this is not what the those programs are meant to achieve.
