@markplott4820 That's what he meant. A movable steering column needs some place to move to, i.e. this empty location. However, right hand drive involves the pedals and other stuff, I think it needs a very different IP.

@churblefurbles Yes. The media will report that "the driver stomped brake pedal so hard it bent the metal" and people will be impressed that the accident situation was so severe, but not blame the manufacturer. But the media will report that "the plastic snapped" and the driver and the severity of the accident are left out, the only thing in the sentence is the manufacturer's choice of material, which everyone "knows" is not as strong, just a cheap money saving substitute.

Have you people been watching Sandy for only a day? The idea that Sandy doesn't understand anything and everything about how a car works is ridiculous. Don't let the gray hair fool you, he knows all the new systems too. His remark about "a dimmer switch" was to make a point, it wasn't the beginning and end of his knowledge of this type of brake system.

@imho7250 I spent 10 years transcribing British scientific notes from the 19th century and putting them up on the internet. The professor I worked for would be very surprised to learn I am clueless about English. As for the rest, I would love for Sandy to weigh in and straighten this out. I can either believe he is ignorant of the problems you point out or that he was making one isolated point and simply didn't go into the rest.

That was my impression also, Sandy uttering that line to some colleagues in a dimly lit parking garage while wearing a fedora and trench coat.
