There are racist fools of every hue Don't let one of them, be you

Doyin Owobamirin Well Doyin, you have shown yourself to be.. a PERSON!! Now ALL 'sides' are free to hate and vilify you. How dare you ;)

Absolutely! Also, if he teaches his children to be wary of only one particular grouping of people, then do they also take it that they should trust all others? Very flawed parental advice!

caroyln barnett Foolish

tony montanna So true.. i never used to think of it at all. I have only ever seen.. people! Now i feel that others are determined that we should all see 'colour'.. first.. always.. and only :( I am fighting this :) Thank you for your response

Sabavoon Fazli It's a shame that they don't also teach you equality of the sexes. If you can't even get that right.. when there are two sexes in every part of the world.. then is it surprising that things become even more difficult when you add more differences?
3
Bob G. Unfortunately, what seems to happen, is that people hear one thing that appeals to them, shout 'YES!', and they are hooked. No more free thinking, no more seeing for themselves, just blind tethered sheep! It's just too easy
3
Sara Smith Not strictly a sexist remark. It isn't saying that men are worse (you wouldn't urge the same caution for your sons) It is to do with the physical dynamic.. to ignore that would be foolish
2
Jerome W All well and good. But, did he say 'richer/better dressed/more well spoken/ taller/stronger/..'etc? He did not. He said, 'white'. Simply ANYBODY and EVERYBODY who's skin colour appears to be that which he deems 'white'!
2
sumthingcre8ive Oh! So it's a history book being quoted then? Got it
2
nakesha Skerritt-philip Nothing is 'just the way it is' other than biology. Everything else is choice!
2
ch70 I believe that by and large 'white' people are NOT racist. But that is what everybody ('white' and 'black') are being led to believe. It is SO easy to make it look that way, (particularly if you are financially disadvantaged) Politicians have ALWAYS 'played' with these groups, to attain their own ends.. and they always will, unless people truly think for themselves.

I'm sorry, but i stopped reading your comment as soon as you told me that it wouldn't be helpful.

Can anyone please enlighten me as to the area/subject of this person's professorship?

Debora Rios Are you insane? Let's all go back and change history shall we? What a damned fool way to look at today. This attitude of yours is what is 'ridiculous, absurd and ignorant!' "the same people you enslaved...etc."; No-one alive today is the embodiment of these long dead people!; "Have you forgotten.." some supposed conversation between centuries dead people!? If you are unhappy with TODAY.. and clearly you are unhappy (if not unhinged), then deal with that TODAY.. NOW! Dragging up situations from another era advances nothing. And that is what it was.. an era, a time when the barbarity of slavery existed in many parts of the world, and not a single 'race' escaped it. America isn't special or unique in this aspect. All other countries, races, religions, sexes.. etc. are doing their best to move forward with today. Try it! NB. and wouldn't it just ruin things for you (p#*s you off) if we COULD go back and change history, and you find that the world majority would do so?!
1
delaze 23 Good to know! ;) Unfortunately, the ignorant and foolish shout louder, and are given far more attention than they deserve. It makes people wonder
1
Munashe Msipa I'm not sure that you fully realise all that you've said there? Maybe re-read it
1
illanoiz1 Every one of them male
1
jason mckay It's mildly interesting that you don't see bigotry here. But I'm more concerned with your statement referring to this person's 'power', or lack thereof. I would contest that, as an academic, he has more power than, for example, an unskilled, poor, 'white' person
1
AdelaeR Nice!
1
olskoolrap I do not understand the difference in education that you speak of... don't you all go to the same schools.. and for the same years?
1
Darker Star Exactly the same schools are there for all though.. aren't they? I'm simply trying to get to the facts of it, and to understand how someone can say that any given group 'gets the worst education'
1
I wouldn't entertain either of them
1
I would be extremely interested in hearing the views of his wife in this regard!
1
Marco Favela Do you have an 'ugly past'? I haven't
1
Fixie4life Where were 'legal situations' cited in this video? I missed that
1
angel gonzalez History didn't favour 'people'.. until long after the dinosaurs! History is a record of the 'past'. Something to look at, and possibly learn from.. not a blueprint for how things should be seen and perpetuated. You cannot live on, or in it. Where would there ever be any progress or improvement in any sphere in that way?
1
Mr. Unseen I don't understand your implied correlation between - being in receipt of 'welfare', and being drug addled, violent criminals? Is this also in the stats.(but unquoted), that you cite as reference?
1
faultroy Domestic violence is covered by the Centre for Disease Control?!
1
156 K Firstly Mr./Ms. ('black/white') you're very presumptious! Secondly, your response is more tantamount to reiteration, rather than explanation. But thanks all the same
1
Niobiumtan Incorporated Nicely put
1
156 K How, in your mind, does a handful of individuals become 'y'all'?
1
The Oily Boily Guy See my earlier comment
1
nakesha Skerritt-philip So presumptuous.. and cheery!
1
Justin Elkin By what criteria do we judge women? Can/should we use colour there?
1
Justin Elkin Then what? We have no guidelines for the judging of women. I wouldn't want to do it wrong! Edit: or perhaps they are pre-judged?
1
Justin Elkin I'm sure they are.. but you cited Martin Luther King (who i had always greatly admired) So with that in mind.. i again ask - how are women to be judged.. as they were wholly absent from that much quoted part of his speech? I have no intention of looking to today's brand of 'feminists'!
1
The Seventh Sword I'm sorry, i fear that is far too ordinary, and simply riddled with maturity and common sense. You have just discredited yourself in the eyes of the hijacked 'left'!
1
Mia Laferriere I'm with your nan on this!
1
Justice Hall Do you want women to trust men?
